Body Liberation Podcast, Episode 8 is out!

In the latest Body Liberation podcast episode Ieva Miltina and mental health practitioner Eirini Kampa explore how body shaming can appear as jokes, “compliments,” or comments supposedly made out of concern for someone’s health, and why these comments can have lasting effects on wellbeing and participation.

They discuss why young women may find it especially difficult to speak up, how repeated comments can become internalised, and how body-related criticism can trigger strong stress responses. The conversation offers practical strategies for setting and enforcing boundaries, it also explores how friends, educators, and bystanders can support someone experiencing body shaming without taking away their agency.
