Body Liberation for Gender Equality

The project intends to explore and implement body liberation principles as a tool for enhancing gender equality and empowerment among young European women.

The project aims to raise awareness of weight stigma and its intersection with gender inequality in youth work and society at large, while empowering young women with the knowledge and tools to navigate the pressures of body image, body shaming, and weight-based discrimination. By equipping youth workers with practical resources, the initiative strengthens their capacity to support young women facing these challenges in diverse contexts. At the same time, the project promotes systemic change by encouraging dialogue among educators and youth organisations, integrating body liberation as a key element within gender equality initiatives.

The Body Liberation for Gender Equality project, contract no. 2025-1-LV02-KA210-YOU-000352192, is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and the Agency For International Programs For Youth in Latvia (JSPA). It is coordinated by Flourish NGO (Latvia), and implemented in partnership with organisations from the Czech Republic and Cyprus.
